Who am I?

Rick van Boxtel is a graphic and interaction designer based in Kaatsheuvel, The Netherlands. He currently studies at the Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg. In his freetime he likes to work as a freelancer for passionate and inspiring companies.

ICT & MediaDesign at Fontys Hogeschool, Tilburg | September 2014 - Present

Rick started his study ICT & Media Design in September 2014. With some experience with HTML / CSS and Photoshop, he entered into his first year. Over the years his knowledge has grown and code languages such as HTML / CSS have been perfected and JavaScript (jQuery) / PHP has been taught. The entire package of Adobe can be used during the making of various expressions such as logos, posters, web design, animations, video editing, etc. The innovation route ICT & Digital Publishing and Minor 360º design helped Rick to become better in the field of concepts and branding.

Rick is currently looking for a graduation internship starting 27 August 2018.

Minor 360º design at Fontys ACI, Tilburg | September 2017 - January 2018

Rick chose to do his minor at the "Academy for Creative Industries (ACI)" in his third year of college. Minor 360° design helped him to get better at making concepts and to experiment with other design disciplines such as painting, sketching, woodworking, etc. "What's the designer in you?", a part of the minor, helped him to find what he really likes to do as a graphic designer.

ICT & Digital Publishing at Fontys Hogeschool, Tilburg | September 2015 - July 2016

Rick got two days a week lessons in ICT & Digital Publishing in the second year of his study. During these lessons there was a deeper understanding of the topics (dynamic) branding, concepts and semantics.

After Rick's internship at Aggeloo, he started a company in which he developed the complete branding and websites for companies. Aggeloo is the first company for which he started to do freelance work. Quickly followed by a few small companies for which digital products have been developed.

2d studio, Trainee designer/developer | March 2017 - July 2017

2d studio in vorm has taught Rick a lot about DTP and graphic design. He worked on lettering, magazines and web design for local companies. His final assignment was to develop a Wordpress website that connected to their current website (made in Readmag). This made it easier to post work and blog posts on their website.

Aggeloo, Trainee designer/developer | August 2016 - January 2017

During his internship at Aggeloo, Rick worked on creating apps, websites and logos for the funeral industry. Not only the designing / coding but also keeping the content up-to-date was one of his tasks. In addition, he contributed to the design of the 'Memories' platform. He also had the opportunity to take a look at the funeral fair (Gorinchem) in which Aggeloo had a stand.

The entire Adobe package is used to develop different media expressions. From creating a magazine up until putting together an animation with self-made illustrations.
